Benchmark Foods was founded in 2003 by Wes Kenney, an entertainment veteran with a love for, well, entertaining! His desire to serve everyone
around the table - including friends predisposed to Diabetes - prompted
him to reach out to friend, David Musso, an accomplished culinarian
and self-professed foodie. Four and a half years worth of R&D produced
a revolutionary, made from scratch dessert. Sweet Abandon was born!
Our Chef and Co-Founder likes to say, "If food doesn't
taste good, it's not worth eating!" No matter how many
"healthy ingredients" other snacks may add, your taste
buds know when it doesn't taste good. Sweet Abandon
cakes haven't been re-formulated to fit today's eating
sensibilities. This is the all natural, anytime cake we
had in mind from the get-go.
Benchmark Foods' one goal was to create an all natural, premium baked good for diabetics who want to indulge in a delicious dessert. The result is a healthy snack cake that's
good for everyone. We knew that Sweet Abandon All Natural Cakes would be tasty. What we didn't know was that a cosmic, cultural shift would focus attention on healthy snacks and smaller portions.
